July 2: HDFC Bank has launched 12 community development projects across Telangana under its flagship Parivartan CSR programme, with the initiatives expected to benefit more than 12 lakh people every year. The projects, spread across over 40 villages in 10 districts, aim to strengthen healthcare, education, sanitation and essential community infrastructure through collaboration with the Telangana government.
The projects were virtually inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, marking another milestone in HDFC Bank’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable community development. The bank said the initiatives have been designed to improve access to quality healthcare, modern education facilities and public infrastructure in underserved regions of the state.
Under the programme, HDFC Bank will support two government hospitals, deploy three Mobile Medical Care Units, upgrade infrastructure in 74 government schools and 35 government junior colleges, install 60 solar-powered highway streetlights, and construct three public sanitation complexes at the Amrabad Tiger Reserve.
A key focus of the initiative is education. Through its Parivartan Shala programme, the bank will transform selected government schools into model institutions by upgrading classrooms, introducing digital learning facilities, strengthening STEM education and improving sanitation infrastructure to create a better learning environment for students.
The healthcare component includes the establishment of an MRI facility at Bhupalpally Government Hospital, a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kodangal Government Hospital, and the deployment of three Mobile Medical Care Units that will provide healthcare services in Hyderabad, Sangareddy and Nizamabad, improving access to medical care for thousands of residents.
Commenting on the initiative, Nusrat Pathan, Head – CSR, HDFC Bank, said the projects are aimed at expanding access to healthcare, quality education and essential community infrastructure through collaborative efforts with the state government and implementation partners. She added that the bank remains committed to creating long-term social impact by addressing critical development needs across communities.
Through the Parivartan CSR programme, HDFC Bank continues to invest in sustainable development initiatives focused on education, healthcare, rural development, financial inclusion and environmental sustainability, supporting inclusive growth across India.
