NTPC Kudgi, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, distributed 191 assistive devices worth approximately ₹30 lakh to 109 Divyangjans from nearby villages on August 20, 2026.
The distribution programme was organised in association with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Bengaluru, with beneficiaries from Kudgi, Mutagi, Masuti, Telgi and Golasangi.
Support Designed to Promote Independence
The assistive devices distributed during the programme included motorised tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, crutches, walking aids, educational kits, smartphones, artificial limbs and calipers, among other support equipment.
These devices are intended to help beneficiaries overcome everyday challenges related to mobility, communication, education and independent living.
A motorised tricycle or wheelchair can improve mobility, while hearing aids can support communication. Educational kits and smartphones can also provide beneficiaries with better access to learning, information and digital resources.
NTPC Kudgi Reaffirms Inclusive CSR Approach
The programme was attended by Santosh Tiwari, Head of Project, NTPC-Kudgi, along with S.U. Haridas, GM-O&M; Sanjit Dutta, GM-Maintenance; S.V.D. Ravikumar, Head of HR; Raj Boravankar, Chief Medical Officer, NTPC Kudgi; representatives of the Union and Association; and other NTPC officials.
The initiative reflects NTPC Kudgi’s focus on making CSR interventions more inclusive and impactful. Rather than simply providing material assistance, the programme aims to create greater opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate independently in everyday life.
By supporting mobility, communication and access to education, the initiative seeks to strengthen dignity, confidence and independence among Divyangjans in communities surrounding the NTPC Kudgi project.
