Hyderabad-based Bring A Smile Foundation is organising a collection drive on August 22, 2026, encouraging residents to donate old but reusable household items that can be redistributed to people in need.
The drive will be held from 9 AM to 3 PM across seven locations in Hyderabad — Kukatpally, Gachibowli, Narsingi, Kondapur, Nizampet, Moosapet and Hafeezpet.
What Can People Donate?
The foundation will accept reusable items including:
- Clothes that are old but not damaged
- Accessories
- Toys
- Books
- Utensils
- Footwear
- School supplies
- Other household items that can be reused
According to Archana Suresh, Founder of Bring A Smile Foundation, the initiative provides people with an opportunity to give unused household items a second life while helping underprivileged communities.
144 Tonnes Collected in 14 Years
The collection drive is being project-led by Aashi Rupani and Aparna Ravikrishnan. Over the past 14 years, Bring A Smile Foundation has collected and distributed approximately 144 tonnes of reusable items to underprivileged communities.
The foundation’s work extends beyond material donations, with charitable projects covering education, healthcare and infrastructure assistance.
Volunteer-Driven Initiative
Bring A Smile Foundation operates with a network of more than 550 volunteers across 10 global geographies. Its volunteer base includes working professionals, entrepreneurs, homemakers, students and senior citizens.
The organisation’s model relies entirely on volunteers, allowing people from different backgrounds to contribute their time and resources towards community-focused initiatives.
The August 22 collection drive is another effort to encourage responsible reuse while directing useful household items towards people who need them.
