New Delhi, June 23: Shares of Reliance Industries gained nearly 3% after its digital subsidiary, Jio Platforms, filed draft documents for what could become India’s largest-ever initial public offering (IPO).
Investor sentiment was further boosted by Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s vision for the company’s next phase of growth, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence, satellite broadband, clean energy, and consumer-focused businesses.
Reliance Industries shares climbed close to 3% during trading, helping lift broader market indices. The stock’s strong performance also contributed to gains in both the Sensex and Nifty, reflecting investor optimism surrounding the company’s future growth prospects.
Jio Platforms has submitted draft papers to market regulator SEBI for a public offering that includes a fresh issue of up to 27 crore shares. Market estimates suggest the IPO could raise approximately ₹37,700 crore, potentially valuing the company at around $137 billion.
The proposed listing is expected to be one of the most significant milestones for India’s capital markets, given Jio’s dominant position in the country’s telecom and digital services ecosystem. Over the past decade, the company has transformed India’s connectivity landscape and emerged as one of the world’s largest mobile operators by subscriber base.
Industry analysts believe the IPO could unlock substantial value for Reliance Industries while providing investors with direct exposure to Jio’s rapidly expanding telecom, technology, digital services, and emerging AI businesses.
The company is also exploring new growth avenues, including satellite communications, advanced digital infrastructure, and next-generation technology services. These initiatives form part of Reliance’s broader strategy to strengthen its position across multiple high-growth sectors.
With investor interest remaining strong and the IPO process now underway, market participants will closely watch regulatory developments and valuation details in the coming months as Jio moves toward a potential blockbuster public listing.
