Lucknow, 15 June: The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a tender worth nearly ₹96 crore for the deployment of 6,000 solar-powered lighting systems across multiple districts in the state. The initiative is aimed at strengthening public lighting infrastructure while promoting the adoption of clean and decentralized energy solutions.
Under the tender, UPNEDA plans to install 5,000 solar street lights equipped with remote monitoring systems and 1,000 solar high-mast lighting units. The project will be implemented on a turnkey basis, covering supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and five years of operation and maintenance. According to the agency, the solar high-mast systems will utilize photovoltaic (PV) modules, lithium ferro phosphate (LiFePO4) battery storage, and energy-efficient LED luminaires with remote monitoring capabilities to ensure reliable performance and real-time system tracking.
The tender is part of Uttar Pradesh’s broader push to expand renewable energy-powered public infrastructure in both urban and rural areas. Interested companies are required to meet technical and financial eligibility criteria, including prior experience in solar lighting projects and a minimum turnover benchmark. Bid submissions will remain open until July 3, 2026, with technical evaluations scheduled to begin the following day.
