UCO Bank’s Kohima Branch has strengthened its commitment to public service by providing scooters to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kohima, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for FY 2026–27.
The scooters were formally handed over on August 19 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kohima in the presence of Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem, NCS, UCO Bank officials and representatives of the district administration.
Supporting Field-Level Administration
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem expressed his gratitude to UCO Bank for the contribution, describing it as a first-of-its-kind CSR initiative for the office involving movable assets with direct day-to-day utility.
He particularly appreciated UCO Bank’s efforts in responding to the administration’s specific requirements.
The scooters are expected to improve mobility for officials and support field-related duties, helping the district administration carry out public service and administrative activities more efficiently.
CSR With Direct Community Impact
Unlike CSR initiatives focused solely on financial assistance, the contribution provides practical resources that can directly support government operations and public-facing services.
Better mobility can be particularly useful for officials involved in field visits, inspections and other administrative responsibilities requiring movement across the district.
The initiative reflects UCO Bank’s broader approach towards supporting local communities and strengthening public infrastructure through CSR interventions.
For the Kohima administration, the contribution is expected to make field-level operations more efficient while strengthening collaboration between the banking sector and local administration.
