KOCHI: The Kochi Biennale Foundation has appointed Thomas Varghese as its new Chief Executive Officer. Varghese, who has extensive experience in sustainable urban development and project management, previously worked with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific in Bangkok.

An alumnus of St Stephen’s College, Delhi, and Harvard University, USA, Varghese brings a unique blend of local insight as a Kochi resident and global expertise to his new role.

Dr. Venu V, chairperson of the foundation, expressed optimism about the appointment, stating, “The structural changes and professional leadership will help us meet international standards.”

Bose Krishnamachari, president of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, also welcomed the transition, adding, “With our restructuring complete, we’re ready to embark on an exciting new phase.”

In his first statement as CEO, Varghese shared, “It’s an honor to contribute to the foundation’s future and to build on its distinguished legacy.”
