Suzlon Energy Ltd has secured a new 250 MW wind power order from Torrent Green Energy, marking another major expansion in the long-standing partnership between the two companies and strengthening Suzlon’s position in India’s growing renewable energy market.
The latest order is the sixth agreement between Suzlon and Torrent Green Energy, taking their cumulative partnership to 1,306 MW, crossing the significant 1.3 GW milestone. The collaboration has now grown into one of Suzlon’s largest customer relationships and has spanned more than a decade.
76 Wind Turbines to Be Deployed
Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply 76 units of its S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3.3 MW.
The turbines will contribute to a clean-energy portfolio spread across Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, three important states for India’s wind-energy development.
The project will not be limited to turbine supply. Suzlon’s scope includes end-to-end grid integration as well as comprehensive long-term operations and maintenance through its Asset Management Services.
This integrated approach is aimed at ensuring that the wind projects continue to operate efficiently over the long term while delivering reliable renewable electricity to the grid.
Suzlon’s Order Book Crosses 1.1 GW in FY27
The latest Torrent Green Energy order adds to Suzlon’s strong business momentum. With this deal, the company’s total order intake for FY27 has crossed 1.1 GW, highlighting continued demand for wind-energy equipment as India expands its renewable power capacity.
Suzlon Vice Chairman Girish Tanti described Torrent Green Energy as one of the company’s most valued partners, noting that the relationship has developed over more than a decade.
According to Tanti, the partnership reflects the importance of consistent performance and long-term collaboration in building confidence around India’s renewable-energy transition.
Madhya Pradesh Emerging as a Wind-Energy Market
Suzlon CEO Ajay Kapur said the order further strengthens the company’s presence in Madhya Pradesh, which is emerging as an important growth market for wind energy in India.
The development comes as India continues to diversify its renewable-energy mix. While solar power has expanded rapidly, wind energy remains an important component of the country’s strategy to build a larger and more reliable clean-energy system.
The growing pipeline of wind projects also creates demand across the wider ecosystem, including turbine manufacturing, engineering, construction, grid infrastructure and long-term operations and maintenance.
A Long-Term Renewable Energy Partnership
With the latest order taking their combined partnership beyond 1.3 GW, Suzlon and Torrent Green Energy are demonstrating how long-term corporate relationships can contribute to the expansion of India’s clean-energy infrastructure.
The 250 MW project is therefore not just another turbine order—it represents another step in scaling domestic wind power, strengthening renewable-energy infrastructure and supporting India’s broader transition towards cleaner electricity.
