Powertrac Group has secured a 50 MW Distributed Renewable Energy Project in Gujarat from Purshotam Profiles Pvt. Ltd. under the state’s Distributed Renewable Energy Bilateral Purchase (DREBP) Scheme. The company will execute the project as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) developer, further strengthening its presence in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
Under the agreement, Powertrac Group will undertake complete project development, delivering integrated renewable energy solutions from concept to commissioning. The company will be responsible for obtaining grid connectivity approvals, capacity reservation, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) execution, land identification, procurement, due diligence and overall project planning.
The scope of work also includes the survey, design, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the transmission infrastructure, including Right of Way (RoW) approvals. In addition, Powertrac will coordinate with multiple government agencies such as CEIG, GEDA, GETCO, SLDC, PGVCL, PWD and the Forest Department to secure all statutory clearances required for the project.
Beyond construction, the company will oversee testing, commissioning, regulatory compliance and commercial operations, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish. The project is expected to contribute to Gujarat’s clean energy targets while supporting the state’s distributed renewable energy ecosystem.
The order has been awarded under Gujarat’s DREBP Scheme, introduced as part of the Gujarat Renewable Energy Policy 2023, which aims to promote decentralized renewable energy generation through bilateral power purchase arrangements between developers and consumers.
The latest contract reflects growing momentum in Gujarat’s renewable energy sector. Earlier, Sunora Solar secured a 125 MW solar project under the DREBP Scheme in Saurashtra, while KPI Green Energy’s subsidiary Sun Drops Energia Private Limited received a 62.20 MW solar power project, taking its captive power portfolio to over 152 MW.
Industry experts believe the DREBP framework is playing a crucial role in accelerating private sector investments in renewable energy by simplifying procurement mechanisms and encouraging industries to adopt clean power through long-term bilateral agreements.
With this new project, Powertrac Group further expands its renewable energy portfolio while contributing to India’s clean energy transition and Gujarat’s ambition of becoming one of the country’s leading renewable energy hubs.
