Kakatiya University is set to establish a second incubation centre on its campus under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, strengthening its efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and startup development among students, Vice-Chancellor K. Pratap Reddy announced.
Speaking at the Entrepreneurship and Startup Induction Programme organised by the University’s K-Hub in collaboration with Telangana’s T-Hub, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged students to become job creators rather than job seekers, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship in driving India’s economic growth.
Mentoring Support for 3,000 Students
Prof. Reddy said the initiative aims to provide mentoring, incubation and startup support to nearly 3,000 students through its partnership with T-Hub.
Expressing confidence in the programme’s potential, he said the University expects at least 10 startups to emerge from the initiative.
He urged students to think innovatively and leverage government support schemes, noting that every promising idea has the potential to become a successful enterprise with the right guidance and determination.
International Academic Collaboration Planned
The Vice-Chancellor also revealed that Kakatiya University is exploring an academic partnership with Germany’s Reutlingen University.
The proposed collaboration includes 4+1 and 3+2 dual-degree programmes, along with short-term international exposure visits for students, aimed at expanding global learning opportunities and academic exchange.
T-Hub to Deliver Entrepreneurship Training
Registrar V. Ramachandram encouraged students to take full advantage of the mentoring, incubation and innovation ecosystem available through K-Hub and T-Hub.
T-Hub representative Sravan Erugula said 400 students were selected from nearly 1,700 applicants for the entrepreneurship programme.
The selected participants will undergo 12 to 15 training sessions covering entrepreneurship, startup development and business fundamentals, followed by continued mentoring to help transform innovative ideas into viable ventures.
The programme was attended by T-Hub representatives, K-Hub officials, faculty members, researchers and students, highlighting the growing collaboration between academia and industry to foster a vibrant startup ecosystem in Telangana.
