Renewable energy company FIMER India has strengthened its commitment to community development by launching a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in partnership with the Aapat-Sahaaya Foundation to improve access to education for students in rural Karnataka.
The initiative focuses on supporting children from underserved communities by distributing school kits and providing scholarships, reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusive education and grassroots social development.
School Kits Distributed to Rural Students
As part of the CSR programme, FIMER India distributed school kits containing notebooks, stationery and other essential educational supplies to students in rural schools across Karnataka.
The initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on families while encouraging school readiness, regular attendance and uninterrupted learning as students begin the new academic year.
Representatives from FIMER, led by Payal Poonacha, Chief Human Resources Officer, visited Veena Makkala Mandira, one of the participating schools, where they personally handed over the school kits and interacted with students, teachers and members of the school community.
Scholarships for Meritorious Students
FIMER’s CSR contribution has also been channelled through the Vidyanidhi Scholarship Scheme, under which 20 meritorious students have been selected to receive scholarships based on academic performance and financial need.
The scholarship programme aims to promote inclusive education by supporting deserving students and enabling them to continue their academic journey.
Focus on Community Development
K.N. Sreevatsa, Group Co-CEO of FIMER, said the company’s philosophy combines sustainable business growth with meaningful social impact.
He noted that alongside expanding its renewable energy business, FIMER remains committed to investing in initiatives that strengthen communities, improve access to education and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable future.
Rajesh Anandaramu, Trustee and Co-Founder of Aapat-Sahaaya Foundation, said education remains the foundation of long-term social progress and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to support underprivileged children.
Payal Poonacha added that the initiative reflects FIMER’s commitment to giving back to the communities where it operates and ensuring every child has access to the basic resources needed to pursue education with confidence.
Supporting Sustainable Development Beyond Clean Energy
FIMER said its vision of sustainability extends beyond delivering renewable energy technologies to investing in people and communities through education and social development initiatives.
The company noted that programmes such as school kit distribution and scholarships are intended to create lasting social impact while empowering young learners and promoting inclusive growth.
