New Delhi, Jan 3 : Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar flagged off two cutting-edge Mobile Clinics equipped with IoT-Integrated Tele-Medicine Services, an initiative by Aster DM Healthcare’s CSR program, for deployment in Srinagar and Kalaburagi.
During the event in New Delhi, the Vice President underscored the importance of accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare, a mission championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Over the past decade, Prime Minister Modi has transformed healthcare in India, ensuring last-mile delivery through initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, one of the world’s largest healthcare programs. It provides up to ₹5 lakh of health coverage, relieving citizens of financial burdens, regardless of their economic status,” he stated.
He also highlighted the government’s achievements in healthcare infrastructure, citing the success of telemedicine services and India’s extensive digital connectivity. “Diagnostic tests and medical services are now accessible through internet-based platforms. Our digital penetration has earned global recognition, ensuring even remote villages are well-equipped,” he remarked.
Addressing the significance of mobile clinics, Dhankhar said, “Mobile clinics provide a crucial assurance to people in need, embodying the ethos of giving back to society through corporate social responsibility. This initiative reflects the values of our civilization.”
The Vice President praised India’s strides in healthcare, noting that the Ayushman Bharat Yojana has benefited millions, offering substantial financial relief to families. He also highlighted achievements such as a doctor-to-population ratio of 1:836, the doubling of medical colleges, and the expansion of paramedical and diagnostic services to remote regions.
“The increase in AIIMS institutions and medical seats has significantly bolstered the nation’s ability to train healthcare professionals,” Dhankhar added. Acknowledging India’s leadership in the pharmaceutical sector, he stated, “India is truly the pharmacy of the world.”
