New Delhi, May 21: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani, Founder-Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, have been recognized by TIME magazine as two of the 100 most influential figures in philanthropy for 2025.

Announced on Tuesday, the TIME 100 list celebrates individuals across sectors such as finance, entertainment, technology, sports, activism, and academia who are making significant philanthropic contributions around the world.

According to TIME, the Ambanis have supported a wide range of social impact initiatives that have touched the lives of millions across India. Their philanthropic efforts include funding scholarships, empowering women through skill development, aiding rural communities with sustainable farming practices, promoting water conservation, building hospitals, supporting vision care, and enhancing school infrastructure.

In 2024 alone, Mukesh and Nita Ambani donated ₹407 crore (approx. USD 48 million), placing them among India’s top charitable contributors.

Nita Ambani, who co-owns the Mumbai Indians IPL team with her son Akash Ambani, also leads key Reliance Foundation initiatives focused on nurturing sports talent. These programs emphasize world-class facilities, expert coaching, and a strong focus on female athletes, backed by cutting-edge sports science.

The TIME 100 Philanthropy list also includes global icons such as David Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, Dolly Parton, and Darren Walker, highlighting individuals driving meaningful change across the globe.
