J&k, April 13: In a remarkable step toward inclusive development, the Indian Army’s Vajr Division, in collaboration with the Aseem Foundation under the Chinar Corps, has electrified Simari—a remote border village in Karnah Valley, Jammu & Kashmir—with solar microgrids and clean cooking solutions. Previously underserved, all 53 households in the strategically located village now have access to reliable electricity and LPG, enhancing their quality of life.

Simari, designated as Polling Booth No. 1 of India and partially located across the Line of Control, now stands as a symbol of national resilience and progress. The initiative, part of the Indian Army’s commitment to the Vibrant Villages Programme, will be inaugurated on April 14, 2025, by Col Santosh Mahadik’s mother, Kalinda Mahadik, along with Commander of the Tangdhar Brigade and Aseem Foundation founder Sarang Gosavi, in memory of the martyred hero.

This project highlights the Army’s evolving role as a catalyst for change, empowering border communities through sustainable energy, infrastructure, and innovation. The Chinar Corps and Aseem Foundation continue to champion rural upliftment across Jammu & Kashmir, reaffirming their commitment to nation-building through grassroots development.
