The medal haul reflected India’s continued growth on the Commonwealth stage, with several athletes producing career-best performances despite challenging weather conditions in Scotland.
Boxers Lead India’s Medal Charge
Boxing emerged as India’s biggest success story, contributing 10 medals, including seven gold and three silver, making it the country’s best-ever performance in Commonwealth Games boxing.
Indian boxers dominated the competition against strong opponents from England, Canada and Northern Ireland, while receiving overwhelming support from Indian fans at the Scottish Event Campus throughout the tournament.
Gulveer Singh Shines in Athletics
Distance runner Gulveer Singh was among India’s brightest stars after becoming one of the few Indian athletes to win two medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
He secured:
