Delhi-based business-to-business (B2B) travel technology startup TravClan has raised $5 million from Flipkart and investment firm August One, alongside debt financing from Trifecta Capital, as it looks to expand its technology infrastructure for travel agents and businesses. The latest funding round brings the company’s total capital raised to more than $11 million.
TravClan plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its global supplier network, expand its technology and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and improve destination operations across key international markets. The company provides a technology platform designed to help travel agents manage bookings, pricing, itineraries, payments, customer communications and on-ground services through a single system.
The investment comes as TravClan looks to build infrastructure for travel businesses that serve customers across India and international destinations. Rather than selling primarily to individual travellers, the startup works with travel agents and businesses, providing them with access to travel inventory, technology and fulfilment services.
Building Technology Infrastructure for Travel Agents
Founded in October 2018, TravClan operates a platform covering flights, hotels, activities and international holiday packages. Its services bring together supplier access, booking technology and destination support, allowing travel agents to manage several parts of the travel process without building their own technology infrastructure.
The company contracts directly with hotels and activity providers and operates ground teams across India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. According to TravClan, it provides end-to-end destination services across more than 18 markets.
The startup said more than 15,000 travel agents across India use its platform, which processes over $100 million in annual travel sales. Approximately 40% of its business now comes from Tier II and Tier III cities, highlighting its reach beyond the country’s largest metropolitan markets.
TravClan believes the next stage of travel technology will involve systems that do more than help agents search for travel options. Its strategy includes developing AI capabilities that can increasingly execute operational tasks, helping travel businesses manage complex workflows more efficiently.
“The next generation of travel software will not just help sellers search faster. It will increasingly execute work for them,” said Arun Bagaria, co-founder and chief executive officer of TravClan.
Bagaria said the company aims to become infrastructure that travel businesses can build upon instead of recreating the entire technology stack themselves. The new capital will support further investment in this approach.
Why Investors Are Backing TravClan’s Supply-Led Model
TravClan’s business model centres on establishing direct relationships with travel suppliers and distributing inventory through travel agents. This approach allows the company to focus on supply, pricing and fulfilment rather than relying exclusively on consumer marketing to attract individual travellers.
Sahil Kukreja, vice president at Trifecta Capital, said TravClan had developed a capital-efficient model by owning supply rather than purchasing demand and distributing through agents in underserved markets.
Rajul Garg, founder and managing partner of Leo Capital, which backed TravClan in its seed round, also highlighted the benefits of the company’s supply-led strategy. He pointed to improved pricing and the ability to support travellers when problems arise during a trip as important advantages in the travel industry.
Direct supplier relationships and local destination operations can be particularly valuable in international travel, where changes to bookings, coordination with hotels and the handling of unexpected problems can influence the customer experience.
TravClan’s strategy combines these operational capabilities with a technology platform intended to simplify the work of travel agents. The latest investment is expected to help the company deepen this infrastructure and extend its reach into additional markets.
Flipkart Strengthens Its International Travel Strategy
Flipkart’s participation in the funding round follows its October 5 announcement that it had acquired a minority stake in TravClan. The e-commerce company said the investment would strengthen international travel offerings through its travel businesses, Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel.
The partnership gives Flipkart an opportunity to deepen its capabilities in international holiday packages by working with a business that has established supplier relationships and travel-agent distribution.
Nishant Verman, senior vice president of corporate development and partnerships at Flipkart, said the investment would strengthen the company’s ability to offer international holiday packages while expanding its travel capabilities.
The collaboration reflects the broader role of technology and supplier networks in travel distribution. While consumer-facing platforms provide discovery and booking channels, partnerships with specialist travel technology companies can help expand access to international inventory and destination services.
For TravClan, the association with Flipkart provides strategic backing as it continues to develop its business-to-business platform and international operations.
Expansion into Europe and New Technology Products
TravClan has also been expanding beyond its established markets. In January 2026, August One invested in the company as it announced plans to enter Europe.
The startup said it would establish local operations in the region, build relationships with local suppliers and introduce VOLT, its application programming interface-first platform for high-volume travel businesses, in European markets.
The company’s focus on APIs is intended to support travel businesses that require technology integrations and the ability to handle bookings at scale. Alongside its broader platform, this product could help TravClan serve a wider range of travel intermediaries and commercial partners.
At the time of its European expansion announcement, TravClan said hotels and holidays together accounted for more than 80% of its revenue. The company’s latest funding is expected to support its efforts to expand supply relationships and strengthen the technology underpinning these offerings.
TravClan’s Funding Journey
TravClan was founded by Arun Bagaria, Chirag Agrawal and Ashish Thapliyal, who previously held leadership positions at companies including OYO, TravelTriangle and Cars24.
Leo Capital led the startup’s seed funding round in August 2019. In September 2021, TravClan raised $2.2 million in a pre-Series A round co-led by Leo Capital and TheVentures, a venture capital firm based in South Korea and Singapore.
In April 2022, the company secured another $4.7 million in a pre-Series A round led by Hashed Emergent Fund. The round also included angel investors such as Cars24 co-founders Vikram Chopra and Mehul Agrawal, as well as former Trip.com co-founder Travis Katz.
During its earlier funding stages, TravClan reported a network of more than 15,000 travel agents and outlined ambitions to expand its gross merchandise value. August One subsequently invested in January 2026, supporting the company’s plans for European expansion.
With the latest $5 million round, TravClan has raised more than $11 million in total from investors including Leo Capital, TheVentures, Hashed, August One, Flipkart and angel investors, alongside debt financing from Trifecta Capital.
India’s Outbound Travel Market Offers Growth Opportunities
TravClan’s expansion plans come amid sustained demand for international travel from India. Indian nationals recorded more than 30.89 million departures in 2024, according to the data cited in the company’s funding report.
As outbound travel grows, travel agents continue to play a role in organising international holidays, particularly for customers who require assistance with accommodation, activities, itineraries and destination logistics.
Technology platforms that combine supplier access, booking management and on-ground fulfilment can help these businesses serve customers across a wider range of destinations. TravClan is seeking to position itself within this market by combining direct supply relationships with digital tools and AI-driven operational capabilities.
The company’s ability to expand internationally will depend on its supplier network, the reliability of its fulfilment operations and its capacity to deliver value to travel agents. The latest funding provides additional resources to pursue these priorities as TravClan develops its technology platform and strengthens its presence in global travel markets.
