New Delhi, April 16: CBM India Trust, in collaboration with one of its corporate CSR partners, has launched a new Early Intervention Hub in Delhi. The facility is designed to support children aged 0 to 10 years with autism, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental conditions—offering them a strong start in life through comprehensive, tailored support.

Early intervention plays a critical role in improving developmental outcomes and overall quality of life for children with disabilities. The new hub will conduct regular screenings in partnership with local hospitals and Anganwadi centers to ensure timely identification of developmental delays. Each identified child will undergo in-depth assessments, leading to the creation of individualized intervention plans. These plans will focus on helping children develop essential life skills and achieve key milestones. Services will be delivered by a dedicated team of professionals including occupational therapists, special educators, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists.

The center also places a strong emphasis on empowering families. Through counselling and hands-on training, parents will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to support their child’s development at home.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Sony Thomas, Executive Director, CBM India, said, “The early years are foundational in shaping a child’s future. At CBM India, we believe in timely, targeted support to ensure children with disabilities receive the care they need when it matters most. Our hub stands on three core pillars: early community-level identification, expert multidisciplinary services, and family empowerment through home-based support. This integrated approach is key to helping children thrive and integrate into mainstream education and society.”

Mr. T. D. Dhariyal, former State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Delhi, and former Deputy Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, who was present at the inauguration, added, “Too often, developmental delays are identified after valuable time has passed. Early detection is essential to ensure effective intervention. Just as important is providing families with the right guidance and resources. I applaud CBM India Trust for addressing these urgent needs and for bringing critical services directly to the community.”

The hub is located in Dakshinpuri, a locality where access to specialized services has traditionally been limited by cost. By offering these services free of charge, CBM India aims to bridge the gap for underserved families and support children during their most formative years—to improve learning, communication, engagement, and overall well-being.
