Assam, August 10: As severe flooding continues to disrupt lives across Assam, Aahwahan Foundation has launched its Assam Flood Relief 2026 mission to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to families in flood-affected communities. The Foundation has mobilised more than 200 volunteers and staff across affected villages in Jorhat, Teok and Sonari, supporting rescue operations and distributing 10,000 emergency grocery and medical relief kits to vulnerable families.
Reaching Families with Essential Relief
The relief initiative focuses on families who have lost access to food, healthcare and other essential services due to the ongoing floods. The emergency kits have been designed to address immediate nutritional, hygiene and basic healthcare needs.
Each kit includes rice, dal, poha, instant noodles, cooking oil, detergent, toothpaste, bathing soap, mosquito coils, dry food items and basic medicines for common ailments such as diarrhoea, fever and cold.

Taking Relief to Remote Communities
Flooding has affected communities across several districts of Assam, leaving many families struggling to access food, clean water, healthcare and safe shelter. In response, Aahwahan Foundation has activated its emergency response teams to provide timely assistance, with particular attention to children, women, senior citizens and daily-wage workers.
The Foundation is working closely with local communities and volunteers to reach remote villages where inundated roads and damaged infrastructure have made access challenging. The initiative aims to ensure that relief reaches those most in need through a rapid, transparent and community-focused response.
From Emergency Relief to Recovery
While the immediate focus remains on providing essential supplies and supporting affected families through the crisis, Aahwahan Foundation also plans to remain engaged as communities begin the recovery and rebuilding process.
