Veritas Foundation Expands Higher Education Scholarship Programme, Supports 100 More Students Across Tamil Nadu

Chennai, 19June: Marking the World Day Against Child Labour on June 12, Veritas Foundation organised the second edition of its flagship higher education scholarship programme, Kanavu Meipada Vendum, aimed at enabling students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education.

Launched in 2025, the initiative seeks to create educational opportunities for deserving students who face financial barriers to continuing their studies. In its inaugural year, the programme provided scholarships for higher education to 40 students from government schools in Perambalur and other districts of Tamil Nadu.

Building on the success of the first edition, Veritas Foundation has significantly expanded the programme in 2026. This year, 100 additional students from more than 15 districts across Tamil Nadu have been selected to receive scholarships and mentoring support for pursuing three-year undergraduate degree programmes.

The scholarship award ceremony was held at Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchirappalli, in the presence of distinguished guests and education leaders. Among those attending the event were T.S. Sridhar, IAS (Retd.), Chairman of Veritas Foundation; K. Abdus Samad, Assistant Secretary of Jamal Mohamed College; T. Arulmani, Founder and Managing Director of Veritas Finance Limited and Managing Trustee of Veritas Foundation; and R. Jahir Hussain, Principal of Jamal Mohamed College. Academicians, social development professionals, and other stakeholders also participated in the programme.

Through Kanavu Meipada Vendum, Veritas Foundation aims to empower talented students with access to higher education, mentorship, and long-term opportunities, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive development and educational equity across Tamil Nadu.
