Mansa, Punjab, 9 Sept 25 : Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), Punjab’s largest and North India’s leading private thermal power plant, has stepped forward to support flood-affected communities in Mansa and nearby regions. As part of its relief drive, TSPL distributed over 160 curated food ration kits across the flood-hit areas of Mansa, Budhlada, and Sardulgarh.

The relief vehicle was flagged off by Ms. Navjot Kaur, District Commissioner of Mansa, along with Mr. Kala Ram Kansal, Sub-Divisional Magistrate; Ms. Retinder Kaul, District Programme Officer & Additional In-charge, Red Cross Society; and Mr. Gagandeep Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Budhlada & Additional Charge RTO.Representing TSPL were Ms. Abhilasha Malviya, CHRO; Mr. Vinay Kumar, Chief Security Officer, Vedanta Power; and Ms. Yeshmeen Mittal, Lead–CSR at TSPL.

Each kit contained wheat flour, rice, oil, pulses, salt, turmeric, and other essential spices to provide immediate relief for families struggling with loss of homes and livelihoods.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Navjot Kaur said:
“Punjab is facing one of its worst floods in five decades, and timely support is critical. The contribution of ration kits by Vedanta Power’s TSPL will bring immediate relief to families in need. Along with the Punjab government and local panchayats, such initiatives strengthen our ability to protect and support the community in this crisis.”

Adding to this, Mr. Pankaj Sharma, CEO of TSPL, remarked:
“As a plant deeply rooted in Punjab, it pains us to witness the devastation caused by the floods. At TSPL, we see it as our responsibility to stand alongside the community and administration during these difficult times. From distributing food kits to deploying nearly 150 tipper trucks of pond-ash to reinforce the Ghaggar river embankment in Sardulgarh, our efforts are focused on helping the region recover and rebuild.”

TSPL, owned by Vedanta, is a 1,980 MW supercritical power plant located near Banawala village in Mansa district. Known for its strong commitment to community development, TSPL impacted more than 60,000 lives in FY 2024–25through CSR initiatives focused on education, women’s empowerment, sustainable agriculture, and public health for both people and livestock.
