Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that the state government will not accept the ₹100-crore CSR donation from the Adani Group for the establishment of the Young India Skills University. The decision comes amid allegations by US prosecutors accusing Gautam Adani and others of bribery in securing solar power contracts.

“The Telangana government has not taken any funds or donations for the Young India Skills University from any organization, including the Adani Group,” said Revanth Reddy. He added that the state recently informed Adani Foundation of its decision to turn down the offer.

Reddy emphasized the need for transparency in awarding contracts. “Rahul Gandhi has clearly stated that governments must follow systematic and democratic tender processes for awarding projects, whether it involves Adani, Ambani, or Tata,” he said.

The controversy has sparked criticism from opposition parties, including the BJP and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya accused the Congress of hypocrisy, while BRS leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) called out the Congress for its alleged double standards on Adani-related matters.

The Adani Group has denied all bribery allegations, calling them baseless, while Telangana reiterated its commitment to transparency and ethical governance.
