Faridabad, Aprail 10: S M Sehgal Foundation, in partnership with Whirlpool of India Limited, hosted an inauguration and handover ceremony today to mark the completion of rooftop rainwater harvesting (RWH) systems under their joint water project initiative.

The RWH systems have been installed across four government schools—Ferozpur Kalan, Karnera, Bhanakpur, and Seekri—between November 2024 and March 2025, creating a total storage capacity of approximately 475 kilolitres.

A community gathering was held at Government Senior Secondary School, Bhanakpur, and Government High School, Karnera, bringing together representatives from both partnering organisations, including senior officials from Whirlpool India. The inauguration included a tree plantation drive and discussions around sustained community involvement, facilitated by the formation of Village Development Committees (VDCs).

This initiative not only enhances water access in the schools through rainwater harvesting but also promotes long-term water stewardship through community engagement and awareness-building.
