New Delhi, Nov 26 : Preeti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation and wife of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, emphasized the importance of art and culture at the launch of two books by Dr. Yasmin Singh on Monday.
Addressing the event, Preeti Adani stated, “The pursuit of knowledge and the practice of art are deeply intertwined. After over three decades in the social development sector, I truly believe that art and culture play a vital role in fostering a resilient and inclusive community. Art transcends barriers of caste, creed, and color, becoming the ideal medium for inclusivity in our country. Whether through dance, music, literature, or visual arts, we find profound ways to express our struggles, aspirations, and joys.” She expressed pride in Dr. Yasmin Singh’s contribution, saying, “It is an honor that a member of the Adani Parivar is advancing this field.”
Dr. Yasmin Singh, a renowned Kathak dancer and champion of the Raigarh Gharana style, spoke about integrating classical arts into education. She remarked, “India’s National Education Policy is being restructured, and traditions like Giddha, Garba, and Kathak have roots in schools. Including Kathak Gharanas in the curriculum can deepen students’ understanding of our cultural heritage.”
Dr. Singh is celebrated for her performances at prestigious platforms like the Khajuraho Dance Festival and her efforts to revive classical dance traditions.
