NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has commissioned an additional 50 MW solar power capacity in Rajasthan, further strengthening its renewable energy portfolio and taking the group’s total installed capacity to 10,836.56 MW.
The company announced that the third 50 MW phase of the cumulative 150 MW solar component, which forms part of a 100 MW Renewable Energy Round-The-Clock (RTC) project, has commenced commercial operations with effect from 00:00 hours on July 31, 2026.
Part of ONGC NTPC Green Joint Venture
The project has been developed by Project Eleven Renewable Power, a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited (ONGPL), the joint venture between NTPC Green Energy and ONGC.
The solar project is located in Rajasthan and forms part of the partners’ strategy to expand clean energy generation while supporting India’s renewable energy and decarbonisation goals.
Installed Capacity Rises to 10.84 GW
Before the latest commissioning, the NTPC Green Energy Group had an operational renewable energy capacity of 10,786.56 MW.
With the addition of the new 50 MW solar capacity, the group’s total installed capacity has increased to 10,836.56 MW, reinforcing its position as one of India’s leading renewable energy companies.
The phased commissioning of the project reflects the company’s continued focus on expanding utility-scale renewable energy assets to meet the country’s growing clean power demand.
