M3M Foundation, in collaboration with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), felicitated India’s medal-winning para athletes and their coaches to celebrate the country’s historic performance at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The ceremony recognised the outstanding achievements of India’s para athletes, who delivered the nation’s best-ever Commonwealth Games para performance, winning a total of seven medals, including three gold, two silver and two bronze.

India’s medal-winning contingent showcased exceptional performances across athletics and para powerlifting, reinforcing the country’s growing strength in para sports.
The athletes honoured during the event included:
- Sharmila Dhankar – Gold (Women’s Shot Put F57)
- Soman Rana – Gold (Men’s Shot Put F57)
- Dilip Manadu Gavit – Gold (100m T47)
- Shubham Juyal – Silver (Men’s Shot Put F57)
- Mohammed Basil – Silver (100m T47)
- Shilpa Shyla – Bronze (Women’s Shot Put F57)
- Jhandu Kumar – Bronze (Para Powerlifting)
The event also recognised the contribution of coaches and support staff, acknowledging their role in preparing the athletes for success on the international stage.

Speaking at the event, Devendra Jhajharia, President of the Paralympic Committee of India, said the Glasgow performance reflects years of dedication, discipline and teamwork by athletes, coaches and support personnel.
He thanked M3M Foundation for supporting India’s Paralympic movement and emphasised that partnerships between corporate organisations and sporting institutions are vital for helping para athletes achieve greater success on the global stage.

Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson of the Paralympic Committee of India, said every medal represents years of perseverance, sacrifice and determination.
She highlighted the need to build a more inclusive, athlete-centric ecosystem that provides para athletes with world-class infrastructure, training opportunities and long-term support.
According to her, India’s success in Glasgow marks not the end of the journey but the beginning of a larger movement to establish the country as a global leader in para sports by empowering athletes to compete confidently at the highest level.

The felicitation ceremony reflects the growing role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in supporting Indian sports.
