Global green technology company Envision Energy has secured a major renewable energy contract in Australia after receiving the Notice to Proceed (NTP) from renewable energy developer Neoen for the supply and installation of wind turbines at the 179 MW Narrogin Wind Farm in Western Australia.
The project marks another significant milestone in Envision Energy’s expansion in the Australian renewable energy market and will feature the largest wind turbines ever installed in the country, reinforcing Australia’s transition towards clean and sustainable energy.
Australia’s Largest Wind Turbines
Under the agreement, Envision Energy will supply and install 23 EN182-7.8 MW smart wind turbines, each featuring a 155-metre hub height and an impressive 182-metre rotor diameter.
Once operational, the turbines will become the largest ever deployed in Australia and are designed to maximise electricity generation while reducing the overall cost of renewable energy production.
The Narrogin Wind Farm is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power nearly 100,000 homes annually, while contributing around 3% of the total annual electricity demand of Western Australia’s South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
Strengthening Australia’s Renewable Energy Capacity
The Narrogin project is Envision Energy’s second Australian wind project awarded within the past year, following its earlier entry into the Pilbara region.
It also represents the company’s first grid-connected wind farm for an Australian client, with the facility set to connect to Western Power’s existing 220 kV transmission network, enabling clean electricity to flow directly into Western Australia’s primary power grid.
Long-Term Operations and Maintenance
Beyond supplying and installing the turbines, Envision Energy will also provide long-term operational support.
The company has signed a 30-year Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Agreement with Neoen, ensuring ongoing maintenance, monitoring and optimisation of the wind farm throughout its operational life.
Construction and installation will be carried out in partnership with UGL and CPB Contractors, both members of the CIMIC Group.
Supporting the Future Energy System
Commenting on the project, Kane Xu, Senior Vice President and President of International Product Line at Envision Energy, said the energy transition is moving beyond simply adding renewable generation capacity and now requires intelligent, integrated energy infrastructure.
He noted that Australia remains a strategically important market for the company and that the Narrogin Wind Farm represents another milestone in Envision’s long-term commitment to supporting the country’s clean energy ambitions.
According to Xu, the company aims to combine smart wind technology, grid-forming battery storage, AI-powered energy management and digital energy platforms to help create a cleaner, more resilient and affordable energy system.
Building Long-Term Partnerships
Peter Cowling, Head of Wind at Envision Energy Australia, said the project will help strengthen the company’s relationship with Neoen while showcasing its expertise in delivering large-scale renewable energy projects through advanced technology and strong local execution.
He added that Envision remains committed to delivering the project safely while maximising the long-term value and performance of the wind farm through its operations and maintenance services.
Neoen Welcomes Collaboration
Jean-Christophe Cheylus, Regional CEO for Australia Pacific at Neoen, thanked the Government of Western Australia, state-owned utility Synergy, local landowners and the Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation for supporting the project.
He said the Narrogin Wind Farm will become Neoen’s first wind farm on Australia’s west coast and represents an important step towards providing Western Australia with reliable, affordable and clean electricity.
Expanding Global Renewable Energy Leadership
Envision Energy has established itself as one of the world’s leading renewable energy technology providers, integrating wind power, battery energy storage, artificial intelligence and digital energy management into what it describes as its Future Energy System.
Globally, the company has delivered more than 100 GW of wind power capacity and over 50 GWh of battery energy storage systems, supporting the transition to low-carbon energy systems across multiple countries.
The Narrogin Wind Farm further strengthens Australia’s growing renewable energy portfolio while highlighting the increasing deployment of next-generation wind technologies to support national decarbonisation goals and long-term energy security.
