Mumbai, Nov 26 : The DBS Foundation has announced an SGD 88 million commitment to initiatives that promote financial inclusion and provide essential needs to vulnerable communities in Asia. Aimed at benefiting over two million underprivileged individuals across six key markets by 2027, these efforts focus on addressing challenges in ageing societies and fostering holistic development.

The announcement was made during the inaugural DBS Foundation Impact Beyond Summit in Singapore, which brought together businesses, longevity experts, and social sector leaders to address the socio-economic opportunities and challenges posed by ageing societies. Key discussions included redefining ageing and improving ‘living spans’ alongside quality of life.

As part of its commitment, the Foundation will launch 15 new programs across two focus areas:
– Providing Essential Needs : Nine initiatives will address healthcare, education, and food security for vulnerable groups, including programs aimed at enhancing living conditions for young children and improving the quality of life for seniors. – Fostering Inclusion : Six initiatives will enhance access to financial services, digital literacy, and employability opportunities, equipping vulnerable communities to build financial resilience.

These initiatives form part of DBS Foundation’s larger 10-year plan to commit SGD 1 billion and 1.5 million employee volunteering hours to uplift communities across Asia. With the addition of these programs, the Foundation aims to impact over 9.8 million beneficiaries by 2027.

The Summit also showcased impactful social enterprises supported by DBS, including India’s S4S Technologies and Haqdarshak, which have made significant strides in empowering women micro-entrepreneurs and unlocking social benefits for millions of citizens, respectively.

Through its initiatives and collaborations, DBS Foundation continues to drive sustainable and inclusive growth, setting a benchmark for social impact across the region.
