Hyderabad, 23June: The CSR arm of technology company Cyient, Cyient Foundation, has announced an investment of ₹7.5 crore over the next three years to strengthen skill development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and employability across higher education institutions in Telangana.
The foundation has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading educational institutions, including Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, Palamuru University, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University. The initiative also involves collaboration with the State Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE) and the Commissionerate of Technical Education (CTE).
As part of the programme, 152 government degree colleges and 59 government polytechnic institutions will gain access to industry-oriented training, emerging technology exposure, entrepreneurship support, and future-ready skills aligned with sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI.
The initiative also includes the establishment of three rural skill development centres in Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, and Warangal, which are expected to train around 600 youth annually in high-growth sectors including healthcare, electronics manufacturing, and digital commerce.
In addition, Cyient Foundation plans to launch an Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) benefiting more than 4,000 students each year, while also supporting 20–25 startups annually through incubation, mentorship, and innovation-driven interventions.
The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and government institutions, creating a scalable ecosystem that promotes innovation, faculty development, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities across Telangana.
Commenting on the initiative, B.V.R. Mohan Reddy said that education must evolve beyond traditional learning to create ecosystems that foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and real-world capabilities for the next generation.
The programme is expected to play a significant role in preparing Telangana’s youth for emerging industries while supporting the state’s broader vision of becoming a hub for innovation, technology, and skilled talent.
