Noida, Nov 28 : The Chetu Foundation, the philanthropic arm of global software solutions provider Chetu, has announced a $100,000 donation to the Akshaya Patra Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to eradicating classroom hunger in India.

This contribution builds on an earlier donation this year, further strengthening Akshaya Patra’s mission to provide free, nutritious mid-day meals to children in government schools. The initiative addresses classroom hunger, which impacts over 200 million children in India, hindering attendance, focus, and academic performance.

“The Chetu Foundation has donated over half a million dollars to various charities in recent years,” said Shaili Bansal, Executive Director of the Chetu Foundation. “Akshaya Patra’s work in feeding underprivileged schoolchildren aligns closely with our mission to support food security and education.”

Bansal emphasized the dual impact of the program: “It not only ensures children receive vital nutrition but also motivates parents to send their kids to school, where they gain access to education.”

Navin Goel, CEO of Akshaya Patra Foundation USA, expressed gratitude, noting, “With support from donors like the Chetu Foundation, we serve over two million children daily across 23,000 government schools in 16 states and two union territories.”

Akshaya Patra operates the world’s largest secular school lunch program, transforming lives through nutrition and education.
