Mumbai : Known for its philanthropic efforts, Motilal Oswal Foundation has recently made headlines with a significant corporate donation. The foundation’s partnership with IIT Bombay aims to enhance financial sector awareness and advance national progress. This collaboration will enable the development of a world-class financial infrastructure at the institute, thereby fortifying its capabilities. The Rs 130 crore donation will specifically fund this financial infrastructure project.

In a related development, Motilal Oswal and Ramdeo Agarwal, the company’s promoters, have pledged to donate 5% of their equity shares each, totaling 10%. These shares, valued at approximately Rs 4,000 crore, will be donated over the next decade. Notably, the Rs 130 crore donation to IIT Bombay is among the largest corporate donations ever made to an educational institution.

Furthermore, the donation will facilitate the creation of the Motilal Oswal Knowledge Center at IIT Bombay. This center, spanning between 100,000 and 120,000 square feet, will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to support various research activities and provide global talent with an opportunity to excel.
