New Delhi, June 25: Juniper Green Energy has commissioned India’s largest wind turbine by rotor diameter and added 82 MW of wind power capacity across projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat, strengthening its renewable energy portfolio.
The company said the newly commissioned project features Envision’s EN-182 wind turbine generator, which has a capacity of 5 MW and a rotor diameter of 181 metres, making it the largest wind turbine commissioned in the country to date in terms of rotor diameter.
As part of the expansion, Juniper Green Energy has commissioned 82 MW of wind power capacity across Barmer in Rajasthan and the Surendranagar and Rajkot districts of Gujarat as of June 22, 2026.
According to the company, the deployment of the new turbines is expected to improve energy yield and operational efficiency while further strengthening its wind energy portfolio. The company said the project reflects its continued focus on scaling up renewable energy assets through technology-led execution.
The latest commissioning follows Juniper Green Energy’s recent addition of 305 MW of renewable energy capacity across multiple projects in Gujarat, along with the commencement of commissioning activities for India’s first firm and dispatchable renewable energy project in Rajasthan.
Juniper Green Energy develops, builds and operates utility-scale solar, wind and hybrid renewable energy projects. The company said its total operational capacity stood at around 1.66 GW as of January 14, 2026.
The latest addition is expected to further enhance the company’s position in India’s renewable energy sector as developers increasingly deploy larger and more efficient turbines to improve generation efficiency and optimise land use.
