New Delhi, 15 June: The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India and the Gates Foundation, organized a high-level CSR Conclave in New Delhi to discuss ways of leveraging the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana for enhancing farmer prosperity.
The conclave brought together senior government officials, representatives from financial institutions, corporate CSR leaders, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and development partners to identify opportunities for strategic collaboration and greater impact under the flagship agricultural initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, underscored the importance of stronger convergence between government programmes and private sector participation to drive sustainable agricultural development.
He said that the government’s vision extends beyond financial contributions under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and encourages active involvement from the private sector through capacity building, manpower support, stronger linkages with Farmer Producer Organisations, farmer awareness programmes, and the promotion of climate-resilient farming practices.
Chaturvedi also highlighted the role of Lead Banks in strengthening financial inclusion and supporting key agricultural schemes such as the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). He stressed the need for targeted outreach and specialised drives in districts covered under the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana to ensure greater access to credit and risk protection for farmers.
The conclave served as a platform for stakeholders to discuss innovative partnership models and collaborative approaches aimed at improving agricultural productivity, farmer incomes, and rural livelihoods across the country.
