UDAIPUR: One of the leading non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in the country, L&T Finance Ltd. (LTF), has launched its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project ‘Digital Sakhi’ in Udaipur, Rajsamand, and Chittorgarh in Rajasthan. The goal of Digital Sakhi is to empower women through digital financial literacy so they can bring about positive change in their communities and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. For this, L&T has partnered with the Manjari Foundation.

LTF’s Managing Director and CEO, Sudipta Roy, stated, “After the successful implementation of the Digital Sakhi project in nine states, we are delighted to launch our flagship CSR project in Rajasthan. With this initiative, we are not only empowering women in rural communities but also helping bridge the digital divide and achieve widespread gender equality. The combination of social, economic, and digital strengths is aiding us in building a more inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable society. We take pride in being a part of this journey towards a brighter future for all.”

The company aims to achieve these objectives by bringing significant positive changes to the lives of rural women and their families. Additionally, it will promote financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in rural areas. The Digital Sakhi program focuses on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)-5, which is gender equality. Through this initiative, women in rural areas are extensively trained in digital financial literacy, leadership, and technology.

LTF will operate this project in collaboration with the Manjari Foundation. The Digital Sakhi project was launched in 2017, and since then, it has trained over 1,770 women as Digital Sakhis, who have benefited more than 4.5 million people and empowered over 14,000 women entrepreneurs with skills. Last month, the Digital Sakhi project was expanded to Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh and Saharsa in Bihar. Besides Rajasthan, the project is currently active in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
