New Delhi, March 28: The Indian Minorities Foundation hosted the ‘Sadbhavna Iftar’ in Delhi, bringing together diplomats from various nations to promote unity, inclusivity, and cultural exchange. Representatives from multiple countries attended the event, commending India’s dedication to religious diversity and international cooperation.

Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner of Gambia to India, highlighted the significance of Iftar for the Muslim community, stating, “Iftar is an important time for us as Muslims, a moment to break our fasts together. We deeply appreciate the ‘Sadbhavna Iftar’ initiative.” He also expressed gratitude for India’s support during the COVID-19 pandemic, acknowledging, “India provided us with vaccines that saved many lives. We are thankful to the Prime Minister and the government… PM Modi is a leader of the Global South.”

Mohamed Ali Fazari, Counsellor at the Embassy of Sudan, praised India’s role as a model for peaceful coexistence, noting, “India embodies religious and cultural diversity, fostering harmony among minorities.” He also underscored the strong ties between Sudan and India, mentioning, “This October, we will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations between our nations. India has maintained excellent relations with African countries.”

Oday Hatim Mohammed, Counsellor at the Embassy of Iraq, emphasized India’s pluralism, saying, “India’s multilingual and multireligious society strengthens the nation. People from all backgrounds are working together for ‘Viksit Bharat.’ India and Iraq share a strong relationship, and PM Modi is a visionary leader.”

Brenda, Second Secretary (Finance) from Zambia, highlighted the Iftar’s role in fostering cultural exchange, stating, “Hosting Iftar strengthens cultural ties. Zambia and India share strong bilateral relations, with India supporting infrastructure development in Zambia. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the upcoming G20 will include more African nations, benefiting low-income countries.”

Prof. Himani Sood, Co-founder of the Indian Minorities Foundation, underscored the event’s spirit of unity, saying, “During this sacred month of Ramadan, we came together with ambassadors from Muslim countries, embracing our Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayaas.’ Today, people from around the world celebrated harmony, community spirit, and togetherness, reinforcing Bharat’s message of global peace and unity.”
