New Delhi, June 24: Real estate technology and advisory platform Square Yards has entered the unicorn club after raising ₹900 crore in a fresh funding round, pushing its valuation above $1 billion and setting the stage for its planned initial public offering (IPO).
The latest fundraise includes a mix of equity and debt, with the capital expected to be used for business expansion, strengthening the balance sheet, refinancing debt, and further investment in technology infrastructure. The round was anchored by EAAA Alternatives and also saw participation from Muzinich & Co., a global corporate credit manager.
With the fresh capital infusion, Square Yards has formally announced its intention to move ahead with a public listing, marking a major milestone for the company as it looks to scale its presence in India’s real estate and housing finance ecosystem.
Square Yards primarily operates in the housing and home loan brokerage space, but over the years has built an integrated real estate services platform offering property search, transactions, home loans, interior design solutions, and property management services.
The company said the new funding would help accelerate market expansion, strengthen its technological capabilities, and support long-term growth as it prepares for the next phase of its business journey.
The valuation achieved in the latest round is higher than the company’s previous funding round, in which it had raised capital at a valuation of around $900 million. Since inception, Square Yards has raised a total of $150 million in equity funding.
The company has also posted strong financial growth in recent years. In the last fiscal year, Square Yards reported ₹2,086 crore in revenue, reflecting a 48% year-on-year increase, while its EBITDA rose sharply, indicating improved profitability and operational scale.
The unicorn milestone comes at a time when India’s startup ecosystem is seeing renewed focus on profitability, sustainable growth, and public market readiness. For Square Yards, the combination of fresh capital, improving financial performance, and IPO plans signals growing investor confidence in the company’s business model and the broader real estate technology sector.
