October 2024: Mumbai came alive with an exciting evening as 13 young hip-hop artists from Dharavi took the stage for the first-ever performance of Dharavi Dreams – India’s debut musical hip-hop theatre production. Written and directed by Neha Singh, the production was brought to life by these talented performers through inspiring dance, music, and acting, sharing powerful stories of hope, resilience, and dreams.

Sooper Dooper Kids, an impact-driven clothing brand with its ‘One Purchased = One Donated‘ promise, proudly supported this event in collaboration with the Dharavi Dream Project and Rahi Theatre. The collaboration provided a platform for the kids to learn hip-hop for free and showcase their talent on stage.

Dolly Rateshwar, Co-Founder of The Dharavi Dream Project, expressed her excitement: “We are thrilled to partner with Sooper Dooper Kids, a brand that shares our vision of empowering youth through creativity. Their generous support in providing t-shirts for the cast not only enhanced the visual appeal of ‘Dharavi Dreams’ but also reinforced our shared mission of uplifting and inspiring the next generation.”

Nevil Darukhanawala, Founder of Sooper Dooper Kids, highlighted the impact of the collaboration: “It was a proud moment to see these talented dancers perform in custom-made Sooper Dooper Kids t-shirts, designed especially for the event. The Dharavi Dream Project has created a powerful platform for young talent, and we are honored to be part of their journey.”

Her Highness Sheikha Arwa Al Qassimi of UAE, an investor in Sooper Dooper Kids, also emphasized the positive impact of this unique collaboration, noting its potential to uplift talented children from underserved communities, perfectly aligning with the brand’s mission.

The Dharavi Dream Project, a hip-hop movement started in Dharavi, Asia’s largest slum, provides underprivileged kids with free access to the “After School of Hip-Hop,” empowering them to express themselves through music, dance, and art.

Sooper Dooper Kids, a clothing brand for kids with a difference, is committed to teaching children values of kindness, inclusivity, and giving. Their ‘One Purchased = One Donated‘ model ensures that for every t-shirt purchased, one is donated to a less-privileged child in India. In collaboration with NGOs like Team Up Foundation, they organize monthly events to distribute t-shirts and celebrate all kids, expanding their impact at events like the Dharavi Dream Project and those hosted by Access Life Foundation and Giving Tree Foundation.

The brand expressed heartfelt thanks to parents who supported this initiative by purchasing t-shirts, which enabled donations to the dancers, crew, and volunteers of the Dharavi Dreams event. Sooper Dooper Kids is also open to corporate and CSR partnerships to expand its reach and encourage shopping with a purpose.
