Mumbai, April 19: Continuing his unwavering commitment to education and social upliftment, actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has launched a new initiative through the Sonu Sood Foundation, aimed at supporting underprivileged children in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh.

Under this initiative, titled ‘Shikshadaan’, the foundation will sponsor the education of 100 children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In addition to school fees, the program includes the provision of school uniforms, bags, and essential learning materials, ensuring comprehensive support for the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonu Sood emphasized the deeper vision behind the initiative: “This isn’t just about helping children go to school—it’s about empowering their futures. Education is the most powerful tool for change, and we are committed to ensuring these children receive the opportunities they deserve.”

The selection of the beneficiaries was carried out in collaboration with local institutions to ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most. Dewas is the first district in the country where this initiative has been implemented, with plans underway to expand ‘Shikshadaan’ to additional regions across India in the coming months.
