Bengaluru, March 26: The AJAX Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Karnataka School Education Department under the Shala Dattu Yojana initiative, is set to establish a skill training centre in Bashetihalli, Doddaballapura. This initiative aims to equip local youth with industry-relevant skills in areas such as construction technology and digital literacy, enhancing their employability and economic prospects.

According to a press release from the Trust, their interventions in several government schools have significantly improved enrolment and student retention rates. The Government Higher Primary School (GHPS) in Bashetihalli witnessed its enrolment rise from 400 to over 800 students. Similar progress was noted across 12 other government schools in Doddaballapur, Gowribidanur, and Shivamogga, where teacher retention and classroom engagement also improved.

Vijay K, Chairman of AJAX Charitable Trust, highlighted the initiative’s focus on bridging the gap between education and employment by providing students with practical skills crucial for workforce success. He emphasized that education, when effectively implemented, has the potential to uplift entire communities.
