Gurugram : PepsiCo India, in partnership with The Social Lab (TSL), successfully hosted the sixth edition of the Plog Run at Leisure Valley, Gurugram. This initiative reflects PepsiCo’s guiding principle of ‘Partnership of Progress,’ uniting organizations and communities for collective action. Aligned with the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission, the Plog Run merges fitness with sustainability, as volunteers jog while collecting plastic waste.

The event was inaugurated by celebrated Paralympian Akhlesh Kumar, alongside key figures such as Jagrut Kotecha, CEO of PepsiCo India & South Asia; Sahil Arora, CEO of The Social Lab; and Vikas Bhatia, Executive Director-Group ESG Head at Varun Beverages Ltd. Participants began their day with a warm-up session led by CultFit, followed by an energetic game of football on Gatorade Turf Finder before embarking on their plogging journey through Leisure Valley.

This year’s Plog Run attracted nearly 500 participants, including employees from TSL, PepsiCo India, Varun Beverages, students, volunteers, and local residents, who collectively gathered over 400 kilograms of plastic waste. The waste will be sorted and recycled for future use. Yashika Singh, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Sustainability Head at PepsiCo India, emphasized the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, thanking local authorities for their support. Sahil Arora highlighted the collaboration’s dual focus on fitness and environmental stewardship, while Vikas Bhatia celebrated the enthusiasm of participants coming together for a common cause. The Plog Run continues to expand across various states, raising awareness about plastic waste management and responsible recycling, aligned with PepsiCo’s broader sustainability goals.
