Singrauli, Aprail 10: In a heartening step towards saving young lives, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has successfully completed the first phase of its CSR initiative “Nanha Sa Dil – NCL”, aimed at providing medical support to children suffering from congenital heart disease (CHD).
The initiative was launched in rural areas of the Waidhan Tehsil in Singrauli, where 38 health camps were organised. So far, 2,658 children have undergone preliminary screening, and 87 children have been identified for further echocardiogram analysis. Children diagnosed with CHD will be referred to Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust hospitals for free life-saving heart surgeries.
Formally launched on March 22, 2025, this unique CSR initiative by NCL aims to screen over 17,000 children through 345 medical camps across the Singrauli region.
Every year, around 300,000 children in India are born with CHD, but due to the high cost of treatment, only about 5% receive surgical care. Through “Nanha Sa Dil – NCL,” the company is offering a lifeline to children in Singrauli suffering from heart conditions—completely free of cost.
This initiative reflects NCL’s strong commitment to health equity and community welfare, ensuring that no child’s future is cut short due to lack of access to timely medical intervention.
