Assam, Feb 20 : Signify, a global leader in lighting solutions, has collaborated with the Foundation for Integrated Support and Solution (FISS) under its Jagmag Pathshala CSR initiative to improve lighting and ventilation infrastructure in 100 government schools across Udalguri district, Assam. As part of this initiative, 2,800 inverter-powered lights and 1,400 ceiling fans will be installed, ensuring uninterrupted lighting and ventilation for over 10,000 students and educators.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Shri Pulak Patgiri, ACS, District Commissioner of Udalguri, Assam, who commended the initiative for significantly enhancing the region’s educational infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, Nikhil Gupta, Head of Marketing, Strategy, Government Affairs & CSR – Signify, Greater India, stated, _”Our CSR strategy aligns with our brand’s purpose of unlocking the extraordinary potential of light for brighter lives and a better world. Through this collaboration with FISS, we are creating well-lit learning environments where students can excel. The project focuses on the installation of energy-efficient LED lights and fans in classrooms, along with capacity-building workshops to ensure long-term sustainability. Additionally, the initiative supports community empowerment by improving educational facilities and promoting sustainable energy practices.

Pradip Hazarika, Director of FISS, highlighted the importance of improving rural education, stating, _”Enhancing school infrastructure in remote areas is crucial for India’s socio-economic development.
