Agartala (Tripura) : In response to the severe floods that affected West Tripura district, Signify, the global leader in lighting, is providing emergency LED lighting to households impacted by the disaster. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the District Administration of West Tripura and the Agartala Municipal Corporation, led by Mayor Sri Dipak Majumder and District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, as part of the company’s ‘Har Gaon Roshan’ CSR program. Partnering with the Foundation for Integrated Support and Solution (FISS), the project aims to create safe, illuminated spaces during power outages and to assist in the recovery and resilience of the affected communities.

By providing sustainable lighting solutions to families affected by the floods in West Tripura, we strive to restore a sense of normalcy while ensuring safety during outages. This initiative underscores our commitment to harnessing technology for social good, and we are proud to work alongside the District Administration to support these resilient communities.”

Mayor Sri Dipak Majumder expressed gratitude for Signify’s support, stating, “We are pleased that Signify has stepped in with their generous assistance in providing emergency LED lighting to flood-affected households. This initiative is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities during power outages. Together, we are dedicated to supporting the recovery and resilience of affected families, ensuring they have safe and illuminated spaces during these difficult times.”

In the aftermath of the floods, which severely impacted electrical infrastructure, emergency lighting has become vital, enabling children to study and families to function safely while minimizing hazards. Signify is dedicated to illuminating these communities by collaborating with local partners and the District Administration, following the Mayor’s and District Magistrate’s vision to implement an efficient distribution plan for LED emergency bulbs to those most affected.

The project aims to improve the quality of life for approximately 6,600 flood-affected families in West Tripura by bringing light into their homes. Beyond addressing safety and security concerns, this initiative seeks to enhance the well-being of over 33,000 families by providing essential services that support the restoration of normalcy.

Offering a range of emergency LED lighting, Signify aims to deliver a sustainable solution that provides immediate relief to families.
