Mohali, April 2, 2025: Indian ODI vice-captain Shubman Gill has donated medical equipment worth INR 35 lakh to the Phase-VI Civil Hospital in Mohali as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The contribution includes essential medical devices such as a ventilator, operation theatre light, multi-parameter monitor, minor operation theatre tables, bedside monitors, and an X-ray system.
Dr. Sangeeta Jain, Civil Surgeon of Mohali, stated that the equipment would be utilized based on priority needs and could be redirected to other hospitals requiring urgent support. “The equipment will be used after assessing the requirements, and if another hospital has a greater need, it may be provided to them,” she told The Tribune India.
Reports also confirm that Dr. Kushaldeep Kaur, Gill’s aunt and the District Immunization Officer (DIO) in Patiala, was present during the handover. She supervised the delivery and ensured the hospital management received the equipment. Gill’s charitable gesture has been widely appreciated by fans on social media.
GT Prepares for RCB Showdown
While Gill continues his off-field contributions, he and his Gujarat Titans (GT) teammates are gearing up for a highly anticipated clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 2 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The match will see cricket stars like Virat Kohli, Josh Hazlewood, Jos Buttler, and Gill in action at one of the IPL’s most iconic venues.
RCB, currently leading the points table with two consecutive wins against KKR and CSK, will look to extend their dominance. Meanwhile, GT has had a mixed start, securing a win against Mumbai Indians (MI) after an earlier loss to Punjab Kings (PBKS). With a history of one win and one loss each at Chinnaswamy, GT will aim to put up a strong fight against RCB, making for an exciting contest.
