South Eastern Coalfields Limited

New Delhi : South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India, has launched “SECL Ki Dhadkan” under its CSR initiative, focusing on congenital heart disease (CHD) in children across coalfield regions in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. This project provides essential early screening, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for children in coalfield-affected areas, including districts like Raigarh, Korba, Bilaspur, and Korea, with a goal to support economically disadvantaged families, especially in tribal and rural communities.

In a significant achievement, SECL announced the successful completion of heart surgeries for 20 children with CHD under the program.

As an extension of Coal India’s broader CSR initiative, ‘Nanha Sa Dil,’ SECL Ki Dhadkan ensures children in SECL’s operational areas can access crucial medical interventions for CHD. The program targets early diagnosis and treatment for children from underserved communities with limited access to specialized healthcare.

The initiative spans key areas in Chhattisgarh, such as Raigarh, Korba, Bilaspur, and Surajpur, and extends to Madhya Pradesh districts like Anuppur and Shahdol. SECL has partnered with Shri Satya Sai Health & Education Trust, with surgeries conducted at Shri Satya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Raipur.

Benefiting families from economically strained rural and tribal areas, the initiative removes financial obstacles to life-saving treatment.

A recent program, ‘Gift of Life,’ celebrated the successful recovery of young patients, who were encouraged toward a healthy future. Through ‘SECL Ki Dhadkan,’ SECL underscores its dedication to community welfare, tackling healthcare disparities, and fostering sustainable development within its operational areas.
