Raipur, Oct 30 : The State Bank of India (SBI) Foundation, in collaboration with local health authorities and the NGO SCHOOL (Society of Community Health Oriented Operational Links), has launched a new initiative to enhance healthcare and nutrition for tuberculosis (TB) patients in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. According to an official press release, the program aims to strengthen healthcare access through the distribution of nutrition-focused food baskets and the deployment of AI-enabled handheld chest X-ray machines for faster diagnosis and treatment of TB.
The nutrition program provides carefully selected food baskets that address the caloric and dietary needs of TB patients, supporting their immune systems to aid in recovery. Additionally, the AI-powered chest X-ray devices will allow healthcare workers to conduct on-site diagnostic imaging in remote areas, delivering real-time results to support quicker diagnosis and treatment.
The launch event was attended by Chief Guest Sanjay Prakash, Managing Director of SBI Foundation, District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Zila Panchayat CEO Vishvdeep, and Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Mithilesh Choudhary. They acknowledged SBI Foundation’s contribution to public health in Raipur and the NGO SCHOOL’s dedication to reaching underserved populations.
SBI Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology for healthcare improvement, aiming to set a precedent for similar programs nationwide.
