New Delhi, Dec 14 : The Sachin Tendulkar Foundation (STF), in collaboration with Mann Deshi Champions, has unveiled a state-of-the-art sports facility in Satara, Maharashtra. This marks a significant milestone in STF’s mission to empower rural youth through sports.
The event also featured Sara Tendulkar’s first visit as a director of the foundation, underlining her dedication to advancing its initiatives. Joined by Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar, Sara emphasized the transformative power of sports and engaged with the young athletes during the inauguration.
The newly established facility boasts world-class infrastructure, including basketball and badminton courts, indoor wrestling and boxing areas, classrooms, administrative offices, and hostels with accommodations for 150 athletes. The initiative aims to provide rural youth with access to professional sports training and opportunities to excel.
Mann Deshi Champions, known for nurturing rural talent, has supported over 100 athletes in securing positions in the army, police, forest services, and railways. Prominent alumni include Dada and Ajinath Shingade, national silver medalists in the 1500m, and Aru Khandekar, a national medal-winning wrestler.
Looking ahead, the organization plans to extend its impact by constructing 50 playgrounds in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, training over 300 athletes, and certifying 2,000 government school sports coaches at the Satara facility within the next year.
Founded in 2019 by Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar, STF focuses on transforming lives through sports, health, and education initiatives. With Sara Tendulkar now taking an active role, the foundation is poised to expand its outreach, ensuring equitable opportunities for underprivileged children across India.
