Mumbai, April 17: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has announced a significant partnership between the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation (STF), the Gates Foundation, and the Government of Meghalaya aimed at ensuring a healthier future for children. The announcement was made via Tendulkar’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

He shared, “A step forward in our journey as the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, Gates Foundation, and the Government of Meghalaya come together to support a healthier future for children. Spending time with the vibrant communities of Meghalaya reminded us that lasting change is born from compassion combined with action. The strength of children, resilience of families, and the dedication of local teams inspire us as we move forward with a shared vision.”

The roots of this collaboration trace back to 2023, when Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar met Bill Gates during his Mumbai visit. Their shared passion for child health and philanthropy laid the groundwork for this partnership.

Recently, the STF and Gates Foundation formalized their alliance by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership aims to address critical issues related to healthcare, nutrition, education, and rural development, with a strong focus on children’s well-being. It seeks to leverage the combined strengths, resources, and local expertise of both organizations to create impactful, scalable solutions across India.

Founded in 2019 by Anjali and Sachin Tendulkar, the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation has been working to improve access to quality healthcare, education, and sports for underprivileged children. The foundation has partnered with multiple NGOs and institutions, positively impacting over 100,000 lives so far.

Widely celebrated as the “God of Cricket”, Tendulkar continues to inspire both on and off the field. From 1989 to 2013, he thrilled cricket fans around the world with his unmatched records, including 100 international centuries and over 34,000 international runs. Tendulkar was also a key player in India’s 2011 World Cup-winning team and played for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, helping them clinch the title in 2013.
