Mumbai, Dec 14 : The Reliance Foundation, in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, has launched a network of 24 Anganwadi Learning Labs to strengthen early childhood care and education (ECCE) in the state. The initiative was inaugurated on Friday in Rayte village, Kalyan, marking a significant milestone in fostering the development of children aged 3 to 6.

The launch event, attended by over 250 parents, children, and officials from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, showcased the aspirations and potential of the Anganwadi Learning Labs. Designed as spaces for demonstration, training, and innovation, these labs aim to improve learning outcomes and build capacity among Anganwadi workers.

The initiative includes capacity-building programs for 700 Anganwadi workers and supervisors, training in play-based learning techniques, and enhanced engagement with parents and communities. Revamped Anganwadi centers are equipped with age-appropriate books, digital learning tools, child-friendly WASH facilities, and infrastructure aligned with Saksham Anganwadi guidelines.

The project aims to directly benefit over 10,000 children across Maharashtra, focusing on improving numeracy, literacy, and school readiness skills. These efforts are part of Reliance Foundation’s broader vision to deliver world-class ECCE services to over 10 million children from underprivileged communities across India.

Through partnerships with various state governments, Reliance Foundation continues to drive innovative models for capacity building, community involvement, and enriched learning environments, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and development among India’s children.
