Jaipur : The Regional Workshop on Rural Livelihoods, themed “Strategies and Interventions for Making of Lakhpati Didis,” was organized to promote rural development by empowering self-help group (SHG) women. The event brought together stakeholders from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.
Key Highlights
1. Day 1 (November 21):
– The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Sh. Ashutosh AT Pednekar, followed by the context setting by Ms. Swati Sharma of NRLM.
– Sh. Charanjit Singh, Additional Secretary of MoRD, shared the Vision for Rural Livelihoods.
– Experts such as Sh. Samik S. Das (World Bank) and Sh. S.C.L. Das (Ministry of MSME) emphasized SHG empowerment and key rural strategies.
– Session 1 : focused on strengthening value chain interventions, featuring a panel moderated by Prof. Kushankur Dey of IIM Lucknow.
In the session on “Strengthening Value Chain Interventions” during the Regional Workshop on Rural Livelihoods, Sh. Sanjay Sharma, Director of Manjari Foundation, Rajasthan, will provide valuable insights and expertise.
2. Day 2 (November 22):
– Session 4 : focused on enhancing community resource personnel roles for initiatives like Lakhpati Didis, moderated by Sh. Naresh Nain.
– Partnerships and convergence strategies were discussed in **Session 6**, involving ministries like MSME, Textiles, and Tribal Affairs.
– The final sessions reviewed MKSP & SVEP implementation statuses and included a **recap and valedictory session** led by Sh. Raman Wadhwa.
