Jaipur, Dec 9 : In a significant push towards child development and women empowerment, Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister, Smt. Diya Kumari, visited the Nand Ghar in Ramnagariya, Jaipur. Developed as a model Anganwadi by the Anil Agarwal Foundation (AAF), the social impact arm of Vedanta, the initiative aligns with the state government’s vision to enhance maternal and child health, nutrition, pre-primary education, and rural women’s economic empowerment.

Recognized by the government as a benchmark for Anganwadi transformation, the Ramnagariya Nand Ghar exemplifies innovation and excellence, offering a replicable model to elevate Anganwadi services across Rajasthan.

During her visit, Smt. Kumari engaged with children, who shared poems and learnings, and commended Anganwadi worker Mrs. Maya for her dedication and adept use of the Poshan Tracker. She inspected the kitchen, facilities, and Poshan Vatika (nutrition garden), urging state-wide adoption of the Nand Ghar model.

Equipped with modern amenities such as solar power, clean drinking water, sanitation, digital learning tools, and nutri-gardens, Nand Ghars foster holistic child development. Recreational toys and swings enrich the learning environment, while skill training empowers women economically.

Since its launch in 2015, Project Nand Ghar has modernized over 6,500 Anganwadis in 15 states, impacting more than 2.5 lakh children and 1.9 lakh women. Rajasthan alone is home to over 3,500 Nand Ghars, transforming the lives of 1.2 lakh children and 90,000 women.

These centers serve as community resource hubs, bridging the rural-urban divide and advancing Rajasthan’s socio-economic development.
